Sour Grapes

Tribal Folk Group

     Who are we?
Sour Grapes is an eclectic, high-energy, original band that incorporates acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies with congas and tap shoes for a percussive twist. The result, described as Tribal Folk, is a full sound and a lively performance with strong lyric and rhythmic foundations.

What do we play?
The style of music we perform is Tribal Folk. In this style, the songs are arranged to emphasize rhythm and lyrics. The core songs we perform are originals, but, depending on the venue, we may perform songs that range from classic jazz standards to modern rock covers.
The band features Larry Ruhl on guitar, harmonica & vocals, Ellen Iovino on congas & vocals, and Matthew Russel on bass. And, of course, Larry & Ellen both do the foot-percussion.

Why the tap shoes?
Because you gotta dance if you really want to get those Sour Grapes outta your system!
